About Us
Conveniently located in Ulster County, Boundary and Benchmark is strategically positioned to provide quality land surveying services to New York's Hudson Valley region, including areas of the lower Catskills and the Capital Region.
It is our aspiration to carry on the Hudson Valley tradition of quality, homegrown surveying services while blazing a new path that incorporates the latest technology and methods to also better serve other design professionals and contractors.
Mission Statement
At Boundary & Benchmark Land Surveyors, D.B.A., our mission is to elevate the land surveying profession by delivering exceptional value to our clients.
It is our belief that the profession has lost much of the high status it once held, and contractors have moved away from and limited their use of traditional land surveying services. We recognize that large engineering and multidisciplinary firms incur substantial overhead costs due to unnecessary and inefficient business structures with many layers of management. Despite these costs, we do not observe substantial increases in value to contractors. In recognizing the status quo, we reject it and blaze our own path that seeks to find ways to decrease costs and increase value for clients. To attain our goals we have developed a four-fold strategy.
Strategy
Structure
By applying a unique structure to our business
we believe that overhead costs can be significantly reduced while maintaining
scalability. Eliminating inefficient management
layers means clients are not billed hidden "project management" time rolled into our rates. You pay us for the time we are working
on your job not for large non-billable salaries.
Roles and Responsibilities
Surveyors often joke that we are the world's second oldest profession. For centuries the professional or chief surveyor could be found, boots on the ground, in the field working with
his crew but for several decades the surveyor has retreated to an office desk. We reject this role and feel strongly the surveyor best serves clients in the both the office and the field.
Technology
The technology in use by surveyors has evolved significantly in the last decade and continues to do so at an increasing rate. To return the best value to clients, it is imperative to stay up to
date with surveying equipment as well as the various software needed to automate basic processes and translate new types of geospatial data into usable forms to convey information accurately and effectively.
Customized Services
We recognize that different projects require different solutions. Not every job is best priced as a lump sum nor is hourly always best. We aim to work with our clients to provide optimal
service and pricing. We also offer diverse and
unique packages custom tailored to your project needs.
Our Team
Meet the Team
Here at Boundary & Benchmark we will help bridge the gap between the reality on the ground and your team's
ultimate plan. With down to earth common sense and subject-matter expertise our team will help your team deal with challenges and more importantly, find solutions.
